Ryde's Waterside Pool has been left counting the cost after three men broke in overnight and caused damage.
At approximately 02.40am the swimming pool facility suffered a forced entry break-in, with the intruders vandalising all the building's external lighting and security systems.
The incident saw the building's intruder alarm activate and police were soon on the scene.
A spokesperson for the pool said three men were detained.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for a statement.
Wight Fire and Security has replaced the damaged hardware and swimming lessons were able to start at their usual time of 8.30am.
The break in is expected to cost the charity thousands of pounds in damages, the spokesperson said.
Fortunately, nothing was stolen.
UPDATE: Police have confirmed that two men from Newport, aged 24 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and burglary.
They are currently in police custody.
