A new initiative is encouraging inclusivity for Island businesses.

The 'Inclusive Island' programme aims to unlock potential and build a more diverse and sustainable workforce on the Island.

Inclusive Island will aim to work with 20 local organisations, offering tailored support to develop inclusivity plans, with practical advice, training and ongoing guidance.

The programme is fully funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and there is no cost for local businesses to participate.

A launch event will take place at Building 41 in Cowes on September 25, from 10am to 1.30pm.

The event is designed to show businesses how embracing inclusivity can enhance their reputation, spark innovation and foster a supportive workplace.

A key highlight will be a hands-on workshop aimed at helping businesses develop practical inclusivity strategies, as well as networking opportunities and talks from industry experts.

Councillor Debbie Andre, responsible for Adult Social Care and Public Health, said: "An event like this is absolutely crucial. It brings together people who are passionate about inclusivity for all."

Sarah Chatwin, managing director of ERMC, added: "The opportunity to talk about 'Inclusive' as a whole subject is fantastic."
