Southern Vectis confirmed there were six passengers on board the bus at the time.

The bus was badly damaged in the collision and was recovered back to the depot in Newport.
Issuing a witness appeal, police confirmed the driver of the Ford Focus, a man in his 40s from Ventnor, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Officers are seeking two passengers on the bus who they hope can help with investigations.
“We understand the driver of the car to be seriously injured. Our thoughts are with them, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery also", Mr Tyldsley added.
