An Island beach has been ranked second best for paddleboarding in the UK, according to a new study.
Freshwater Bay has been placed second in research conducted by outdoor experts Go Outdoors.
The study looked at factors such as water quality, average sunshine hours, popularity and wind speed, with the Island beach ranking 8.99 out of 10.
It placed second only to Silecroft Beach in Cumbria.
Go Outdoors cited Freshwater Bay's scenic beauty and favourable weather conditions as key to its ranking, with sea temperatures reaching as high as 20.9C in August and an average of 1,699 sunshine hours per year.
The study also looks at the best places in the UK for wild swimming, surfing and kayaking, as well as the best water sports attractions in the UK.
Meanwhile, Freshwater Bay's Albion Hotel has recently undergone a £6 million refurbishment.
The 16th-century building reopened on June 27 after being taken on by new owners.
The hotel also has a new restaurant, The Rock, which boasts sea views.
The restaurant is open to non-guests for food and drink.
