Celebrating its 49th event, the Island Steam Fair rolled into the Isle of Wight Steam Railway over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

As is the case most years, the heart of the show was the iconic steam traction engines.

Steaming around the main arena were a collection of road rollers, showman's engines and miniatures.

Visitors were treated to traction engine games, including races and even a unique version of musical chairs.

The On the Edge motorcycle stunt team showed off their skills, performing tricks across the weekend.

Also on display was a variety of vintage cars, military and commercial vehicles, motorbikes and tractors, lovingly cared for and restored by their owners.

For the littles ones, there were fairground rides, traditional games such as coconut shys and hook the duck, and even a performance from, the Knights of the Crusades, which performed two medieval shows.

Various stallholders were scattered around the site, as were performers, including magicians, the Magical Music Bike and balloon-makers.

Throughout the weekend, there was also live music.

And if that was not enough, visitors could always board the steam train, which is a mainstay at the attraction.

The Island Steam Fair is set to return its 50th anniversary next year.
