An 'injured person' led to an emergency response to a popular Isle of Wight beach this evening (Tuesday).

HM Coastguard was called to assist the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at Yaverland.

Crews were first alerted just before 6pm.

Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent, alongside Bembridge RNLI.

A person sustained an injury and was recovered, a HM Coastguard spokesperson said.

The person was being looked after by paramedics.
