An Isle of Wight pub has been forced to remain closed for a further week.

Wootton's The Sloop Inn posted on their Facebook page today (Tuesday) explaining that repair work hadn't gone as planned and that the pub would be closed. 

A team of roofers and builders are putting in a new roof.

The pub initially closed on Sunday, stating "structural issues", and hoped to open again the following evening, but further work has to be carried out.

The Sloop Inn has faced challenges due to flooding in the Wootton Bridge area.
