Owners of zombie-style knives and machetes have been urged to surrender their weapons by September 23.
This call to arms comes from the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Donna Jones, alongside Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
They are supporting a national campaign aimed at minimising the circulation of these lethal weapons.
PCC Donna Jones said: "This surrender scheme will take more deadly weapons off the streets in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
"It is vital that members of the public come forward to prevent further devastating and life-changing consequences to so many families."
After September 23, the law will change, making it illegal to possess, sell, manufacture and transport these dangerous items.
The constabulary has reported a nearly eight per cent decrease in knife crime offences in the two counties compared to last year.
Nationally, statistics from the Ministry of Justice show the rate of first-time offenders and overall number of knife offences have also declined.
PCC Donna Jones added: "This nationwide surrender is an important step towards eradicating dangerous weapons that have no place in our society."
Weapons can be handed in at certain police stations across the constabulary, including Newport Police Station on the Isle of Wight.
