The landlord of a much-loved Isle of Wight pub has pleaded with Islanders to support his and other local businesses, warning "use us or lose us".
Jake Rigby, who runs the Sun Inn, Calbourne, said many Island shops, bars, and restaurants are "feeling like pinch like never before".
"The cost of everything has skyrocketed — utilities, ingredients, stock, wages — you name it", he said.
"If you don’t want to lose these vital community hubs, please start using them!"
Jake began running the pub in May last year, succeeding retiring landlords of 17 years, Kate Goldson and David Whittaker.

He said many places have been struggling to stay afloat since Covid.
In recent times, he blames 'all time high' ferry prices for affecting summer trade.
In a plea to Islanders, he said: "We need your support now more than ever.
"Please, if you don’t want to see more closures of our Island shops, bars, and restaurants, make an effort to visit them and, where possible, pay in cash.
"Let’s support each other and get through this storm together. Your local businesses are counting on you!"
