A new high street retail store is bringing foods from around the world to the Isle of Wight.
From dry foods to frozen foods, Afro Wight Foods has opened in Newport, at the former home of Phil's Diner.
As well as stocking a wide range of African and Caribbean products, there is also a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available to buy.
Popular foods in the first months of the shop opening include rice, beans and spices.
Although the shop is new, the business, run by Michael Akinsanya, already has an established online store.
Michael, from Nigeria, moved from Sunderland with his family to the Isle of Wight a few years ago.
He told the County Press he wants to provide African foods so people don’t have to travel to the mainland to get them.
While there are plenty of African food shops on the mainland, there are barely any on the Island, he said.
The shop, which can be found at 81, High Street in Newport, is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 7pm.
