Isle of Wight police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with recent fires at a derelict seaside hotel.

The teenager has been arrested on suspicion of arson following a spate of fires at the Ocean Hotel off Sandown Esplanade.

The derelict was targeted four times in a week, and the police investigation is ongoing.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: “Deliberate fire setting in any building is dangerous and puts lives at risk.
