COASTGUARD crews have descended on Ryde Esplanade with a coastguard helicopter circling The Solent.
Coastguard rescue crews from the Isle of Wight gathered on shore at Western Gardens, at around 4.10pm today (Saturday).
While this was happening, the Solent Coastguard's rescue helicopter and a lifeboat appeared to be conducting a search to the west of Ryde Pier.
