A TEENAGER will be heading to Hawaii to compete at the 2024 Pokemon World Championships.
Cassender Morey, best known as Cass, will be representing the Isle of Wight and his home city of Bristol at this year's championships in Honolulu, which runs from Friday, August 16, until Sunday, August 18.
Cass, 14, travels out to Hawaii with his dad, Ian, who lives in Cowes, on Monday (August 12). He is being supported by Red Funnel, Isle of Wight County Press and Oasis, near Brading.
A Pokemon fanatic, since he attended a gaming convention on the Island in 2021, Cass is one of Europe's top qualifying Pokémon GO players, competing to be crowned world champion.
He said: "I'm really excited about it. Going to Hawaii is like a dream — a once-in-a-lifetime event.
"Pokemon is just so fun and I get to meet new people and travel the world. I feel gifted to do that."
