An Isle of Wight business has opened a new facility and named it after one of its late owners.

Owned by the Medway family, Godshill Orchards has sold fruit and products for generations at the orchard entrance on Hollow Lane.

It was decided it was time to refresh the shop.

Sadly, Vivienne Medway died recently, so the family decided to rename the self-service shop Vivienne’s Larder in her honour.

Married to her husband Robert for 42 years, Vivienne was a devoted mother to Simeon and Beth.

As a domestic science and food technology teacher, she made a valuable contribution to orchard activities.

The new self-service facility will offer fresh fruit and vegetables in season, together with Island milk, 24/7.

Graham Biss, the Island’s High Sheriff, officially opened the new shop, cutting the ribbon before tasting some of the fruit.
