Multiple Red Funnel Isle of Wight ferry sailings have been cancelled today (Thursday, August 1) following a 'technical issue'.
UPDATE: Major disruption after further Red Funnel cancellations and three hour delays
The cross-Solent operator has announced that eight scheduled crossings between East Cowes and Southampton have been cancelled.
The affected sailings are between between 5am and 3.30pm.
Red Funnel says the disruption is caused by a 'technical issue' with one of its vehicle ferry's Voith unit.

The following sailings have been cancelled:
- From Southampton: 5am, 8am, 11am and 2pm.
- From East Cowes: 6.30am, 9.30am, 12.30pm and 3.30pm.
A spokesperson from Red Funnel said: "We apologise for any inconvenience to your journey."
