Thirteen Island primary schools were visited by established authors this summer term, thanks to the Isle of Wight Story Festival.
The visits took place between June and July, with poet John Hegley and illustrator Neal Layton exploring their collaborative children's book with the students.
The pair previously headlined the festival's event in February at Quay Arts.
Neal said: "It was a joy to be part of the IW Story Festival schools programme, supporting the good work going on in classrooms and helping inspire new generations of young storytellers and artists on the Island!"
Maz Evans and Ian Charles Dickens also visited local pupils, along with former modelmaker Anthony James, who facilitated an interactive craft session.
Other children's authors and performers who were part of the roster included Debbie Webb, Sue Bailey and Holly Medland.
The Isle of Wight Story Festival is scheduled for a return to Quay Arts next February half term, marking its sixth year.
Past speakers have included Simon Farnaby of Horrible Histories, The Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler and Horrid Henry writer Francesca Simon.
