Isle of Wight Scouts are among 8,000 others participating in the Essex International Jamboree at Boyton Cross.
The scouts, aged between ten and 17, along with 14 adult volunteers, set off from East Cowes on Saturday, July 27.
They arrived at the site at 3.30pm, where they were welcomed by a team of six volunteers. The group are residing at the Nile Sub-Camp, part of a large, transformed green field site at Boynton Wood.
A grand opening ceremony was held, in which the Isle of Wight’s new Scout contingent flag flew high.
The jamboree will close on August 2, with the group returning home the following day.
The Isle of Wight contingent will showcase local produce at a food festival, featuring products from several farms and businesses.
Ali Burt, contingent leader for Isle of Wight Scouts, said: "After many years (due to Covid preventing the attempt in 2020) of planning and fundraising Essex International Jamboree promises to be an unforgettable experience for our young Islanders, providing skills for life, building new friendships, and memories to last a lifetime.
"I want to thank everyone who has helped us and these young people along the way, particularly all the companies who supplied products for the food festival."
