Isle of Wight treasure, magician David Randini, has returned to Island esplanades for free seafront entertainment, starting today (Monday).

Randini, who also goes by Mr Randini, will perform every Monday in East Cowes, on the green near the Shoreside Cafe, and Wednesdays in Appley, on the green by the Appley Cafe.

All shows will start at 11am and will be free to attend.

Randini said: “I started these shows in the early 1990s when the Punch and Judy man booked by the council unexpectedly left the Island.

"I stepped in, and little did I know that I would still be performing them 30 years later.

“In a recent article in the Independent newspaper, it was stated that 51 per cent of people could not afford activities for their children this summer.

"We are so lucky to have many free events on the Island, like carnivals and parades. So it's great to put on something free this summer.”

Randini, who honed his craft under the guidance of his father, The Great Randini, has studied magic in China and the USA.

His road safety show has been performed over 1,000 times in 550 schools.
