A WIGHTLINK vehicle ferry was delayed this morning (Saturday) after a passenger was injured.
The 8.20am sailing from Fishbourne to Portsmouth was delayed by 40 minutes, due to a passenger having a fall on the vessel, as cars and foot passengers were boarding.
An ambulance was called.
The incident led to the boarding of vehicles onto the ferry being held up to allow the emergency vehicle to access the vessel.

It is not known at this stage what knock-on effect the delay will have on this morning's timetable.

UPDATE 9.58am: A Wightlink spokesperson said delays of around 30 minutes are expected on the Portsmouth-Fishbourne route until late afternoon, after a "medical emergency" earlier this morning.
"Wightlink apologies for the inconvenience to customers and staff are doing all they can to get back on time," Wightlink added.
