A CONVICTED paedophile pensioner due to be sentenced for flouting the terms of the Sex Offenders' Register by not registering his bank card, will have to reappear next month after a probation report on him was not produced for his hearing.

Peter Charles Trayner, of Queens Road, Freshwater, admitted failing to comply with the notification requirements of the Sex Offenders' Register — namely by failing to register a new bank card within three days of its receipt, at Newport Police Station — at a previous hearing.

The offence took place on an "unknown date" in April last year.

The 74-year-old appeared at the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing on Tuesday (July 23).

But no probation report had been produced, due to Trayner's appointment being delayed until July 30 and the court not informed.

Trayner was handed a suspended jail term in October 2019 for hoarding more than 700,000 indecent images of children, just days after he had served out his licence from a prison sentence.

He was bailed to reappear for sentencing at the same venue on August 15.
