A WOMAN accused of throwing compost over an Isle of Wight shopfront in a racially aggravated act will go before a judge later this year.

Jade Clarke, of Llansteffan Road, Johnstown, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Friday, July 19.

The 26-year-old is charged with racially aggravated criminal damage, a racially aggravated public order offence, criminal damage, and two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, in East Cowes and Newport, on January 31.

She is accused of ripping open compost bags and throwing them over a shop and its forecourt at the Premier Stores on Adelaide Grove, among other acts.

Ms Clarke did not enter a plea, and saw her case adjourned to August 27 at the Isle of Wight Crown Court.

She was granted conditional bail until that date.
