The Isle of Wight's two MPs have confirmed they will continue in their roles as Isle of Wight councillors until next year's local elections.
But Richard Quigley, Isle of Wight West MP, and Joe Robertson, Isle of Wight East MP, have told the County Press they will not seek re-election for the council come May 2025.
Richard, who is IW councillor for Cowes North Ward, said he does not want to cause additional cost to the council or the electoral registration office with a by-election for his seat.
He will also forego his councillor allowance from the date of his election as MP, he said.

"I will continue as a councillor until the elections next year, but not seek re election", he said.
Likewise, East MP Joe said he will stay on as Bembridge councillor, until the local elections in May 2025.
He said: "Being an Isle of Wight councillor has given me a greater insight into all the challenges that the Island faces and has allowed me to build key relationships in the council to work more effectively as an MP."
As well the General Election, in May, Islanders also headed to the polls to elect the Police and Crime Commissioner and have seen other by-elections.
Both politicians were elected as MPs earlier this month, in what was an historic night for the Island.
