Boys need bins in toilets too, an Isle of Wight charity says.

The Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer Support Group is campaigning for public toilets to have bins in the men's cubicles as well as women's - and has met with a fair bit of initial success.

It is not only prostate cancer that causes some men to become incontinent, but the group knows first hand that some men have given up going out because of a lack of facilities.

A bin in toilets would give them somewhere to change themselves.

The group said: "There is a law that states there must be a bin in every ladies loo for personal problems. Where is the law that states me should be treated the same?

The group is contacting all town and parish councils to ask for support, but they would also like businesses to come on board too.

The following councils already have men's bins: East Cowes, Godshill, Gurnard, Niton, Shanklin, Totland, Wootton and Yarmouth.

A petition can be signed, by emailing thesmiths57@btinternet.com for details.

The group stock pads in The Hub in Newport, where men can just go and get them without having to wait a long time for ones ordered or on prescription.
