An Isle of Wight man, who stole £80 worth of vapes and Ginsters slices from a convenience store, has been fined and must pay compensation.
Gino Randall, of Dubbers, Godshill, attended the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 9, and pleaded guilty to theft from a shop.
Liz Miller, prosecuting, said the 35-year-old entered Central Stores in Wroxall on April 6 and picked up multiple items but only paid for bread.
Ms Miller told the court these items included vapes, Ginsters chilled slices and ready meals, to the value of £80.
Michael McGoldrick, defending, said his client is “incredibly ashamed and disgusted with himself," for what he described as a very unsophisticated theft.
Mr McGoldrick said Randall suffers from anxiety issues and Asperger's syndrome, and might have drunk alcohol that day.
Magistrates told Randall to pay £80 compensation to Central and fined him £40.
Randall must also pay £85 in costs and a £16 surcharge.
