Everyone's favourite heroes and princesses will assemble on the Isle of Wight this weekend.

Festival of Heroes returns to the County Showground in Northwood on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21.

Promising shows, workshops and vintage rides, there is plenty to enjoy for families.

There will be more than 50 characters for children (and adults) to meet and greet.

Also on offer will be inflatables, pony rides, a gaming bus, a Nerf arena, food and drink options and a mass of stalls by Island businesses.

One of the main arenas will feature the MBE bike team, while the other will have a whole host of entertainment.

Across the weekend, the arenas will host Hose Box Theatre, Huxley Magic, Phoenix Wrestling and Big Boom Circus, among others.

In the Big Top, there will be character sing-a-longs, circus performers and colouroke.

The event, which was previously based at Brading Roman Villa, is sponsored by Red Funnel and Milford Del.

Raising funds for Daisy Chains IW Children's charity, tickets are available on the gate on the day.

Doors open at 11am and tickets cost £7 per person. Children aged two and under go free.

Festival of Heroes will take place between 11am and 5pm.
