AN ISLE of Wight logistics service has struck up a partnership with popular electric bike and scooter service, Voi.

Independent business, Keert, will be responsible for battery changes, safety checks, and ongoing maintenance.

Voi, which took over the Isle of Wight contract from Beryl, offers electric bikes and scooters for public rental.

Users can pick up one of the eco-friendly vehicles from various locations around the Island and return them to designated bays after use.

To access the fleet of Voi scooter and bikes, Keert uses its ultra-low emissions e-cargo bikes and e-van, making sure the whole Voi operation on the Island is sustainable and working towards the Isle of Wight’s Net Zero by 2040 aim.

The partnership will initially focus on Cowes, Newport and Ryde, with plans to expand the service across the entire island in the future.

"We are thrilled to partner with Voi and support the growth of electric bike and scooter services on the Island," said Matthew Whittaker, director at Keert.

"By ensuring these vehicles are safe and well-maintained, we are contributing to a greener, more sustainable future for our community."

The new contract with Voi has enabled Keert to hire additional paid staff, providing more job opportunities for local residents.
