It has been confirmed cannabis is unwittingly growing in a flower bed on the Isle of Wight.
A concerned member of the public contacted the County Press after spotting the plant growing in a flower bed in Ryde town centre, near the Co-operative on Anglesea Street.
The plant has been confirmed to the County Press as cannabis by local experts, Chris Kidd, curator at Ventnor Botanic Garden, and Colin Pope, of the IW Natural History and Archaeological Society.
Charity, Haylands Farm, is responsible for planting flora in the flower beds, which are managed by Ryde Town Council.
The County Press is told the plant can take root when a seed is carried and dropped by a bird.
The anonymous note sent to the County Press was signed by "Disgruntled, of Binstead".
Ryde Town Council and Haylands Farm have been contacted for comment.
