A renewable energy company on the Isle of Wight has ceased trading after 16 years.

Pure Green Energy, which was based in Ashey, Ryde, closed permanently as of 5pm yesterday (Thursday, July 11).

According to Companies House, an insolvency disclaimer notice (NDISC) was published on February 28.

The company supplied solar panels and other green energy solutions.

A answer phone message from the firm says: "Unfortunately we have ceased trading. 

"We wish all our clients well and thank you for your past custom.

"For any existing customers, please note we will come back to you with the next steps in due course".

Pure Green had one sole director, John Fisher, who is also listed as a director of Wight Gateway Limited (WGL).

WGL is the company behind the proposals to develop a new Island ferry port on land owned by the firm, in Ryde.
