Student teams from Cowes Enterprise College entered the British final of the H2GP Hydrogen-Powered RC Car Endurance Race in Scotland.
Team Eco Futures and Team Eco Change journeyed 400 miles for the event.
The students designed, built and raced hydrogen-powered cars in a four-hour rally.
Despite intense competition, Team Eco Change achieved the second-fastest lap and led the race for one and a half hours before a motor problem forced them to withdraw.
Team Eco Futures completed an impressive 221 laps before they met power management issues.
They started preparing for this since 2023, creatively solving problems to address future energy needs.
Rachel Kitley, principal at Cowes Enterprise College, said: "All of us at Cowes are so proud of how hard our students have worked across this exciting project – seeing their dedication, passion, and knowledge grow has been truly inspiring, and it is great to see their work come to fruition in this exciting challenge.
"The entire project has been a great learning and personal development opportunity for students, providing invaluable lessons in career exploration, self-discovery, teamwork, and celebrating achievements."
