For the second year running, the Isle of Wight has been named as destination of the year at a national awards ceremony.
The Island beat off competition from the likes of London, Leicester and Leicestershire, Norwich, Wiltshire and York, in the category at the Group Leisure and Travel Awards.
A ceremony took place at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington, London on Thursday, June 27.
Will Myles, MD of Visit Isle of Wight, said: "This is great news not only for Visit Isle of Wight, but for all of the Island businesses that deliver such a great service for groups, including the transport providers to, from, and on the Island."
The Island celebrated other successes as Warner Leisure Hotels, with locations at Bembridge Coast and Norton Grange, was awarded best accommodation for groups.
Amy Summers, sustainable travel, trade and exhibitions manager, said: "I'm honoured to accept this award alongside Will on behalf of the Island for a second year in a row.
"The groups market is key for the Island, and we have been working hard to enhance our promotion and meet with trade organisations to make sure the Island continues to be a first-choice destination for group travel.
"My continued thanks to the exhibitions partnership for supporting us with the shared vision to promote the Island, and a final thanks to everyone that voted for us."
The annual initiative is organised by Group Leisure and Travel Magazine and voted for by readers.
