The large-scale Isle of Wight Pennyfeathers development, featuring 830 new homes, will be showcased at a drop-in event this today (Wednesday, July 10).
Residents are invited to find out more and have their say on new plans for the proposed development on the Pennyfeathers site in Ryde.
The new proposals include a reduced number of new homes and retains around 50 per cent of the site as green space parkland and rewilding, with plans including a care home, 35 per cent affordable housing and major highway changes at Westridge Cross, say developers.
The drop-in engagement event will be held between 3pm and 7.30pm at Ryde Castle.
As previously reported, the new proposed development is planned to take place across several years, and would include a mix of new homes and commercial spaces, including space earmarked for a leading budget supermarket, coffee shop and national chain hotel.
Following the previous proposal being voted out, the lead designer and project manager, Dave Farrell, said the developers had listened to comments from residents and councillors and returned to the drawing board.
The current plans are not yet set in stone and will be shaped following consultation with Ryde residents, stakeholders and the wider Island community.
Final plans will be submitted to the IW Council for consideration later in the year.
