Isle of Wight prom season has arrived, and students from Ryde Academy have been among those celebrating.

Year 11 enjoyed a taste of the finer things at GGs Bar and Restaurant on Thursday, June 27, after laughter and tears at their leavers’ assembly a week earlier.

Arriving at their Hollywood-themed evening via the red carpet, attendees competed at the blackjack and roulette tables, enjoyed a DJ set and received special awards.

There was also the traditional crowing of prom royalty.

Posting on Facebook, Ryde Academy said: “We are so pleased that our Year 11 students had such a great evening of celebration.

“As you can see, the prom committee and Mrs McCluskey did a fabulous job creating the Hollywood-themed evening.”

In May, student volunteers from across all year groups ran a successful Fun Fete, which helped fundraise the unforgettable experience for Ryde’s Year 11 students.
