Isle of Wight Council data shows just how much each of our councillors received in allowances across a 12-month period - costing the local authority more than half a million pounds.
The annual figures reveal allowances paid between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024.
All members receive a basic allowance, and some members also receive a special responsibility allowance, to reflect their additional responsibilities.
All members are also entitled to receive a travel allowance, based on the post they hold and the distance between their home and County Hall, and may claim the expenses of any off-Island travel and subsistence they incur while on council business.
Only one councillor, Cllr Clare Mosdell, opted out of receiving the on-Island travel allowance.
Across all its members, the total allowances amount to £546,074.40.
The previous year, between March 2022 and April 2023, the council paid out £512,726.87.
