While the country went to the polls for the General Election, and the Isle of Wight voted in two new MPs, there were two lower key votes also taking place.
Two Isle of Wight areas were seeking new local councillors.
Residents in Ventnor West and Shalfleet East had the opportunity to cast two votes - one to choose their MP and one to choose a new town/parish councillor.
In Ventnor West, voters chose between Linda Jefferies and Marzena Turner for the place on the town council.
Linda won the seat with 945 votes, to Marzena's 371.
In Shalfleet East, voters could choose between Jonathan Hill and Edward Surridge for the place on Shalfleet Parish Council.
Jonathan won the seat with 238 votes, to Ed's 55.
