Joe Robertson has become the Isle of Wight East constituency's first MP after claiming victory in the 2024 General Election.

Joe recorded a total of 10,427 votes.

Reform UK's Sarah Morris came second with 7,104, with Green Party's Vix Lowthion finishing third for the fourth election running, with 6,313.

Polls closed at 10pm, and after hours of counting, results were finally declared at 4.25am.

In 2019, the Island voted as a whole for the final time, with the largest electorate in the UK, totalling 113,021.

Conservative Bob Seely, who finished second behind Labour’s Richard Quigley in the IW West seat, had held the seat since June 8, 2017.

Joe grew up on the Isle of Wight and attended Ryde School, and during his student years, was elected as a youth parliament regional representative.

Today, he lives in St Helens with his wife Tanya and two children and serves as councillor for Bembridge.

Joe's sister and brother-in-law are nurses at St Marys Hospital and his father-in-law is a retired GP

Joe has also served as governor at two Island primary schools, as trustee of the Island’s Citizen’s Advice, and as president of the local Campaign to Protect Rural England.
