Isle of Wight firefighters tackled a basement fire in Ryde this afternoon (Friday).
At around 4.15pm, crews from Newport and Ryde were called to the scene on Monkton Street.
They were responding to a report of a small fire consisting of wood and general rubbish in a void basement area next to a property.
The two crews used breathing apparatus and a single hose reel jet to bring it under control.
Firefighters stood down a short while later, at around 5.15pm.
