ISLAND band Marnie Marie must be pinching themselves after performing twice at this year's Isle of Wight Festival, including Sunday's Main Stage.

The talented young musicians, from Newport's Platform One College, opened on the Main Stage today (Sunday) at 11.55pm.

Marnie Marie earned their slot by winning this year's Wight Noize competition.

They also performed on the Platform One Stage yesterday (Saturday).

Here's what some of the band said: "Amazing. It was so surreal. Hot and sweaty, but lovely. The atmosphere was really great. We managed to get a crowd, which was really nice.”

Marnie herself cited Beverley Knight as an inspiration, describing the popular singer as "incredible.”

The band have been styled by Platform One students on its sustainable fashion degree course. The team includes Iris Little, Amber Adkins-Hughes and Tia Masterton, who are taking inspiration from this year's funky festival theme, Summer Solstice.

Additionally, the fashion team will be backstage in the Platform One tent, adding their fashion touches to the bands before they head on stage.
