POLICE have arrested an Isle of Wight man following a stabbing in Shanklin town centre.
Officers were called to the High Street, outside Shanklin Conservative Club, at around 6.20pm last night (Friday), following a report of a serious assault on a man.

It was reported a man in his 50s had been stabbed, suffering a puncture wound to his back and a cut on his arm.
He was immediately taken by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to St Mary's Hospital.
A short time later, officers arrested a 36-year-old man from Ryde, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
He remains in custody at this time.
