Bookings have opened for free summer activity spaces for eligible children on the Isle of Wight.
Across the Island, organisations are coordinating a range of healthy activities as part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.
Designed for children aged five to 16, the activities range from sports coaching, multi-sport games, performing arts, to animal care and crafts, all providing a nutritious meal.
Priority placement is given to children on benefits-related free school meals, but paid-for places and spaces for other vulnerable families are also available.
Feedback received from parents includes:
"Amazing, children and play in the warm, have fun, make friends and have food.”
"Attending the HAF sessions has made it possible for him to enjoy some activities outside of the home rather than being stuck indoors all day."
"Just overall great fun and it really helped him stay active and occupied."
"Playing with new friends and enjoying a varied range of activities that we wouldn't have been able to do at home."
