AN INDEPENDENT Isle of Wight kitchen design company is celebrating 20 years in business.

Linear Kitchen Designs, based in Newport, specialises in creating bespoke kitchens, utility rooms and bedrooms.

Founded in 2004 by Janice Miles, who recognised a gap in the market, the German kitchen brand Nolte was selected to fit the bill.

Alex Hodder and Helen Copeland joined the business in 2006 and 2011 respectively, and have owned the business since 2017, with Janice enjoying a well-deserved retirement.

Catering to the traditional taste, British kitchen cabinetry brand Kesseler has also been added to the range.

“This, in addition to the many quality appliance and worksurface brands such as Miele, Bora, Quooker, Cosentino and Corian, helps us create a kitchen for most tastes and budgets,” said Helen.

“When you visit the showroom, there is no feeling of being rushed, no pressure, just friendly advice to help you achieve the kitchen of your dreams.

“Every design is made to order, and Alex and I also work closely with Southampton’s Interstyle for their superb bedroom designs.

“Over the years it’s always been fantastic to see a finished kitchen or bedroom, and to see a big smile on a customer's face is so rewarding.

“There have been so many highlights, but it was especially exciting to be featured on the Channel 4 show Grand Designs twice, and also Building the Dream.

“Being a small business in ever changing times can certainly be challenging,” added Alex.

“But we are extremely proud of what we have achieved.

“We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our many valued clients, and we hope to continue from strength to strength over the coming years, doing something we are passionate about. “

The Newport showroom is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 4pm on Fridays, and 10am to 1pm on Saturdays.
