With just days to go until Isle of Wight Festival 2024 gets underway, attention has swiftly turned to the weather forecast.

Hoards of people are expected to descend on Seaclose Park, Newport from Thursday, June 20.

For many, the big question is whether or not to bring wellies and a raincoat!

So, what does the weather have in store?

According to local forecaster Isle of Wight Met Service, it should remain relatively dry, aside from a few showers here and there.

On Thursday, when campers arrive on site, there should be hazy sunshine at times but also cloudier periods,  Jamie Russell, of the met service, predicts.

He said there is a risk of rain overnight, however.

Temperatures will be has high as 19 to 21°C.

Friday - the day Prodigy and the Streets take to the stage - is expected to be a fresher, breezy day with perhaps some rain at first followed by broken cloud and the odd shower.

Temperatures will be between 17 and 19°C.

The following day, Saturday, when Pet Shop Boys and Keane perform, there will be the odd shower at first.

This is expected to turn brighter with cloud and occasional sunny spells, with temperatures around 16 to 18°C.

Meanwhile, Sunday is likely to be a fine, dry day with good sunny spells and broken cloud, Jamie said.

Temperatures are expected to be between 19 and 21°C, as Green Day and Simple Minds close the show.
