A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of an 84 year old woman.
UPDATE: The man has been granted bail until September.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were called just after 1.10pm on Saturday, June 15, by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to reports of an unexplained death at an address on Wood Street in Ryde.
A spokesperson said: "Officers have attended and an investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of an 84 year-old woman.
"As part of our enquires, 59 year-old man from Lake has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time."
The man lives on Newcomen Road.
