Euro 2024 gets underway in Germany on Friday (June 14), with many Islanders eyeing up their local to soak up the footballing atmosphere.

The competition kicks off with the hosts facing Scotland at 8pm, with England's opening match seeing them take on Serbia on Sunday.

Islanders may be looking for the best pubs and bars that are showing the football, so we have put together this guide… let us know if there are any we’ve missed!

England's Group C matches are as follows:

  • Sunday, June 16 - Serbia v England (8pm)

  • Thursday, June 20 - Denmark v England (5pm)

  • Tuesday, June 25 - England v Slovenia (8pm)


Central Wight


The Hogshead

The Hogshead on Newport High Street will be showing every World Cup match.

Spaces are going fast at the pub, and you can book yours online HERE

Isle of Wight Festival

In the Field of Dreams area at this year's IW Festival, you will be able to watch England as they face off against Denmark in their second group-stage match.

The game kicks off at 5pm and will be shown on the big screen.

GG's Bar and Restaurant

GG's will be showing all of England's matches at the Euros, with a live band for the opening match against Serbia.

For what is scheduled to be England's round of 16 and quarter final games (fingers crossed!), GG's is teaming up with Football Factory to offer afternoon family fun, with the games shown on its giant screen.
 

The Chequers Inn

The Chequers Inn on Niton Road near Rookley has a massive green in its garden showing the Euros this summer. 

The massive screen can be viewed from all seating areas, but is only available through booking only. 

NOTE: This is a separate event to the pub and there will be no access to The Chequers. If you enter the pub, you will not be allowed back in.

East Wight


The Crab

Found on Shanklin High Street, the pub and restaurant will be showing the tournament live on its big screens. 

The Crab is also hosting its 'Golden Goal' sweepstake to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. 


Scruffy Jacks Sports Bar

Based at Sandown Pier, the sports bar boasts seven screens, dedicated to Euros football this summer.

The Vine Inn

Found on Upper Green in St Helens, The Vine will be showing all World Cup games across its two screens.

Booking is highly encouraged.

The Blacksheep Bar and Club Lounge

The Blacksheep will be following all of England's Euros progress, showing the action on its big screens.

The bar will not be taking bookings, so be sure to arrive early!

The King Lud 

With possibly the largest pub screen on the Island, coming in at 98 inches, Ryde's King Lud is all set to cheer England to victory this summer.

The pub is also hosting a sweepstake, with the hope of raising £50 for Retina UK.

Stonehouse Pizza & Carvery (The Sloop)

You can join The Sloop in Wootton to catch every game at this year's Euros, played on every screen inside the venue.

Caulkheads

Caulkheads on Avenue Road in Sandown will offer drink promotions during every game.

The promotion includes a four pint jug of Fosters or Inches for £12, with the promise of more deals throughout the tournament. 


North Wight


The Sugar Store

Found within Cowes' Shepards Marina, will be playing all the action on two large screens.

The Anchor

The Anchor, on Cowes High Street, is showing all the games live of its big screens, including in the its beer garden.

The Pier View

Also found on Cowes High Street, The Pier View will be showing all of this summer's Euros action.

Booking is recommended to get good seats!

The Jack Daniels-themed venue is also offering exclusive drinks and food offerings on game days. 

High Street Bar Co Ventnor

The High Street Bar Co will be showing matches at the Euros in Germany this summer.

Be sure to head on down to the venue, found at the top of Ventnor High Street, to catch all the action.


West Wight


The Bugle Coaching Inn

The Bugle in Yarmouth Square will show the kick-off in Germany, with the first game being played on Friday night.

The Vine Inn

You catch the Euros action at The Vine Inn, on School Green Road in Freshwater, this summer.

The pub was also running a Euros sweepstake, which is now sold out.
