Last year it was all about Barbie pink but what will fashionistas and trendsetters likely be wearing to this year's Isle of Wight Festival?

As a fashion degree student with Platform One, I've been studying the latest looks since last year's Seaclose shenanigans and here's what I think could be spotted in the crowd for 2024.

If you're still deciding on your festival wardrobe, look no further.

Let's start with the theme for this year's Isle of Wight Festival 2024, Summer Solstice. The dates fall just right for the solstice this year, so maybe this will be influencing your fashion choices!

We have seen a big trend with ethereal, midsummer folklore outfits recently so this theme is perfect and trendy.

I would love to see lots of flower crowns, floaty dresses and fairy wings around the festival site - that's virtually guaranteed, surely?!

Hot pants are the next suggestion. We are taking it back to the 1970s with this trend.

Hot pants, or ‘micro shorts’ as many fashion brands have been calling them, have been pumped down the catwalk in Milan, with everyone from Kendall Jenner to Beyoncé styling them.

They've also been a statement in Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift's wardrobe for both of their international tours this year, leading to many people wearing them. Will you be styling hot pants at the festival this year?

The retro vibes of sports jerseys have been very trendy this year. Oversized basketball jerseys and football tops are comfortable and breathable, making them perfect for anyone to wear to the festival.

Modern bride, now that's a new trend, right? But surely a white dress is a staple in everyone's wardrobe?

Many designers chose to include sheer and embroidered swan-white, long dresses in their 2024 spring and summer season collections. They're classic, chic, and versatile.

Making a comeback once again is the iconic leopard print. Animal prints can be a daunting addition to your wardrobe but a complete showstopper when styled in an outfit.

We've seen leopard print as a statement accessory with Dua Lipa's handbags and Tom Daley's shoes.

Bows are a thing this year. You can add this easy detail to your outfit with any ribbons or scrap material you have laying around.

Bows have proven they will look cute with anything already in your wardrobe. From hair accessories to bows on trousers, this is a trend I love.

A shoe trend we’ve carried through to this year is cowboy boots - they're still being seen everywhere! They are practical for the festival, can be styled in many different ways and really elevate all outfits.

Hopefully being sustainable with fashion choices will be on your mind this summer while you choose your festival outfits.

Here's a reminder that you can re-wear or upcycle your current wardrobe.

We also have amazing vintage and quality second-hand garments in our charity shops on the Island, all for bargain prices.  Happy hunting!
