Two fire engines attended the incident - one from Ryde station and one from Sandown.

A water carrier also made its way over from Ventnor.

Firefighters left the scene at 1.50am.

All that remains of the shack is a burnt out shell.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: "We were called at about 12.45am this morning by the fire service to a report of a fire of a beach hut off Forelands Field Road.

"This is not being treated as suspicious."
