AN ISLE of Wight teenager is representing Ryde Sea Cadets in Normandy, taking part in D Day parades at Pegasus Bridge.
Matilda, 13, from Ryde, is passionate about the sea cadets and keen to raise the profile of the amazing things they do as a charity.
Her proud mother, Jenny, said: “She was lucky enough to be selected to be onboard the TS Royalist as part of a two-week voyage from Weymouth to Ouistreham, and back to Gosport.
“Yesterday saw her sailing out of Portsmouth as part of the parade of ships.
“She is now away for two weeks in Normandy and is taking part in the parades at Pegasus bridge, representing Ryde Sea Cadets.”
