An update has been released after a power cut knocked out the traffic lights at the top of the dual carriageway near B&Q on the Isle of Wight yesterday (Sunday, June 2).

As previously reported by the County Press, Island Roads announced that the lights at the busy junction on Medina Way were out of action, and temporary lights were in place.

The lights turned off following a power cut in the PO30 5HT postcode area, with Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) reporting that 29 customers were affected.

At 7am this morning (Monday, June 3), Island Roads confirmed the permanent traffic lights at the B&Q junction are now back on.

The two-way temporary lights remain at the top of Hunnyhill, as SSEN need to reinstate the carriageway following their repair work.
