Another road closure in Apse Heath, plus roadworks due to gas works in Shanklin, have led to delays around the South Wight this afternoon.
Island Roads announced an immediate closure for Newport Road, Apse Heath, stretching down past the airport, to enable Southern Water to carryout urgent repairs following a water leak.
It is the second one in the area in a matter of days.
Meanwhile, SGN gas works on Victoria Avenue in Shanklin means that route, a diversion for some trying to navigate around Apse Heath, is suffering a build up of traffic.
The closures come at a time when Leeson Road is closed, which means cars travelling to Ventnor are using Apse Heath and Victoria Avenue more than usual, on route to Wroxall - the only way in to Ventnor from the East.
