A main Isle of Wight road between Apse Heath and Lake remains shut this morning (Tuesday), leading to delays and diversions.
Update: Main Sandown road reopens after major water leak and division misery
Newport Road (A3056) is still closed after a burst water main yesterday (Bank Holiday Monday), County Press readers have said.
As previously reported, it was said that tarmac was 'breaking up' in the road because of a major leak.
Southern Water engineers visited the site, near Sandown Airport and Honnor & Jeffrey Garden Centre, deciding to shut the road.

There are no repair updates on the utility firm's website this morning but yesterday it said: "Sometimes repairs take longer than we’d like, as we need to complete numerous checks and tests.”
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and we thank you for your patience."
Nearby residents also reported no water or low pressure.
The County Press is awaiting a comment from Southern Water.
