A pursuit in Ryde led to the discovery of suspected Class A drugs and cash, and prompted an arrest, said Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
On Friday, May 17, officers on patrol in Ryde spotted a vehicle on Smallbrook Lane, just after 10.30pm.
There was what police called 'short pursuit', which ended when a man left the vehicle on Daniel Street and attempted to run away, police said.
Officers carried out a search, under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, and found what was believed to be Class A drugs and cash.
A 29-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, driving a motor vehicle dangerously, failing to stop a vehicle when directed by a PC, driving whilst unfit through drink and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
He has been released from police custody, on bail, as the investigation continues.
